Are you passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and looking for a rewarding career supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? We’re searching for a caring, proactive, and dedicated 1-to-1 SEN Support Assistant to join a thriving specialist school in Bridgend.
Whether you have professional experience or have supported individuals personally, this full-time role offers the perfect pathway into a career in education—no teaching qualification required!
Deliver 1-to-1 support to pupils with ALN during lessons, breaks, and daily routines.
Assist with personal care tasks (e.g. toileting and feeding), promoting dignity and independence.
Use positive behaviour management techniques to support emotional regulation and learning.
Participate in specialist training sessions to boost your SEN knowledge and career prospects.
Build consistent, trusting relationships to help pupils feel secure and supported.
Personal or professional experience in ALN/SEN support.
A compassionate, patient, and adaptable mindset.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow structured routines.
A willingness to apply for an Enhanced DBS (support provided).
Registration or willingness to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (we’ll guide you!).
Competitive pay: £89.38/day or £13.75/hour
