Job description

MCS Group is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to drive the development and integration of Vessel Power Electrical Architectures and critical subsystems, including propulsion, energy storage, safety, and control systems. In this exciting position you will play a key role in designing and delivering cutting edge marine power solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development, design and implementation of power distribution and control systems ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Create technical documentation, including schematics, test plans and validation reports.
  • Lead and provide expert guidance on design reviews
  • Support manufacturing and testing along with engaging with suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

About You

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar. Candidates with extensive relevant experience in lieu of qualifications will be considered.
  • Extensive experience in a Principal Electrical Engineer role or working towards.
  • Strong expertise in hazardous voltage systems and power distribution.
  • Proficiency in Electrical CAD tools
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards, EMC design, and system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical system commissioning and fault diagnosis.
