1:1 Teaching Assistant Needed - Immediate Start

Simply Education is seeking a patient, compassionate, and skilled 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a KS2 student with special educational needs (SEN). This is a crucial role that will significantly impact the student's academic and personal development.

The Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a KS2 learner who may display challenging behaviours. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Providing one-on-one academic support to keep the student focused and engaged.
  2. Implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours, fostering a positive learning environment.
  3. Adapting learning materials and activities to meet the student's individual needs and learning style.
  4. Collaborating with teachers and professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans.
  5. Encouraging independence, self-confidence, and social skills development.
  6. Maintaining accurate records of the student's progress and sharing updates with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, especially those with behavioural challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting the student's well-being and success.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing needs.
  • Willingness to pursue professional development and learn new techniques.
