SEN Teacher

Location: Whitby and surrounding areas (case dependent)

Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)

Hours: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm (flexible working available)

Pay Rate: £30-£35 per hour (PAYE - case dependent)

Role Type: One-to-One Teaching for students with SEN, SEMH, SEMD, and medical needs

What the Role Involves:

  1. Creating a Safe Learning Environment: Build trust and consistency to help students feel secure and ready to engage.
  2. Designing Individual Learning Plans: Adapt your teaching to meet each student's academic and emotional needs.
  3. Collaborating with Families: Work closely with parents and carers to ensure a joined-up approach to support.
  4. Encouraging Growth and Confidence: Deliver lessons that build resilience, self-esteem, and academic achievement.
  5. Leading by Example: Model positive behaviours and values that promote lifelong learning and personal development.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (PGCE)
  • At least two years of teaching experience
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, and Science (UK curriculum)
  • Experience across Key Stages 1 to 4
  • Excellent English skills and a background in SEN education
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
