About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work directly with a pupil who requires tailored academic and emotional support within a mainstream classroom setting. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the child’s educational and personal development needs are met, offering stability, encouragement, and consistency throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs (SEN), learning difficulties, or additional learning needs.
• Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
• Implement individual learning strategies under the guidance of the teacher and SENCO.
• Offer emotional and social support to promote confidence and independence.
• Use positive behaviour management techniques to encourage engagement and progress.
• Adapt resources and teaching materials to support individual learning styles.
• Liaise with teachers, SEN professionals, and parents to monitor progress and share updates.
• Support the student with daily routines, transitions, and classroom expectations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working in a 1:1 role or as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker.
• Understanding of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, or Learning Disabilities.
• A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to working with children.
• Ability to differentiate learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
