Job summary

Southampton City Council is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support learners in a primary setting at Bevois Town. This 1:1 role involves working with children with varying needs and directing early interventions to promote language and phonics development.

The post requires an NVQ Level 3 TA qualification, GCSEs in English and Maths, and strong communication with pupils, parents and staff. DBS check and overseas clearance if applicable are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in EYFS/Nursery or special needs setting beneficial.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Experience delivering small group interventions.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils at the earliest stages of learning English as an additional language.
• Deliver small group interventions.
• Work with professionals from agencies beyond the school (Outreach Services).
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
