Job summary

St Andrew's Church of England Primary School in England is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a named child with type 1 diabetes. You will work with class teachers, SENCOs and staff to ensure the child feels safe, valued and included.

The role is 22 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term-time plus inset days, fixed term until August 2027. Experience with young children and knowledge of Type 1 diabetes are desirable, with training provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in a primary school or EYFS setting.
• Understanding of Type 1 diabetes is helpful but training can be provided.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a named child in line with learning and care needs.
• Support the child’s emotional, social and academic development in class and activities.
• Work with teaching staff and parents to implement and adapt learning strategies.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with record keeping and observations as required.
