Primary School Teaching Assistant
Are you confident in demonstrating and explaining concepts to children with additional learning needs? Can you adapt information to support their understanding?
A local primary school in Cheltenham is looking for a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team from Monday to Friday starting this September. The role involves working under the guidance of the class teacher to support pupils academically and emotionally, helping to improve their independence and life skills.
The children have a range of emotional and physical disabilities, including higher degrees of ASD, muteness, Autism, Dyslexia, and motor issues.
The ideal candidate should be able to perform well under testing situations.
* Enhanced DBS – either currently held with the update service or willing to undergo the process.
* Proactive, energetic, enthusiastic, and caring approach to supporting students.
* Support on a 1:1 basis with KS2 students, delivering adapted work from the mainstream KS2 curriculum.
* A strong background in Maths and English is preferred, along with previous experience with SEN.

Schedule:
* Full-time, 08:30 am – 3:30 pm
* Monday to Friday
* Term time only, no weekends
Experience:
* Teaching assistant or relevant child-related experience: 1 year (required)
* 1:1 experience with KS2 students (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Driving Licence (preferred)
