Remedy Education is recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant at a primary school in Newham. The role runs 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a long-term, full-time contract and daily rate of £100–£115.

You will support pupils with SEN, work with the teacher on lesson delivery, and help regulate emotions to enable consistent progress. The position offers a supportive, well-resourced school environment and a clear path to permanent opportunity.

• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).

Remedy Education are currently working with a fantastic primary school in Newham who are looking for a strong SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and inclusive setting.

About the Role

You will be providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including behavioural needs. This role is key in helping students stay engaged, regulate emotions, and make consistent progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and planning
• Manage behaviour and support emotional regulation
• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

• Experience supporting children with SEN and challenging behaviour (school setting preferred)
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
• Full CV covering the last 10 years (with gaps explained)
