Job summary

Remedy Education is currently seeking caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across schools in South East London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with an individual pupil, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop independence and build confidence throughout the school day. A DBS on the Update Service is preferred, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs.

• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

Daily Rate: £100-£117 per day

The Role

Remedy Education is currently seeking caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across schools in South East London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a real difference in a child's education. You will work closely with an individual pupil, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop independence and build confidence throughout the school day.

We are looking for committed individuals who can build positive relationships with pupils, understand their individual needs and work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities

Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs.

Supporting learning activities and helping the pupil access the curriculum.

Assisting with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.

Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

Adapting support to suit the pupil's individual needs and learning style.

Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to support progress.

Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs is an advantage.

A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

The ability to remain calm and consistent when managing challenging situations.

A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
