Job Opportunity: 1:1 Teaching Assistant at Oxfordshire Primary School

An inclusive Oxfordshire Primary School in Wantage is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for September 2024. Could this be you?

The school caters to KS1 and KS2 students with SEN/SEND needs, including those transitioning from alternative schools. The role involves supporting students on a 1:1 basis, utilizing tools such as emotional communication boards, visual aids, and outdoor activities to engage children with ADHD, ASD, and mutism, fostering enthusiasm for learning.

Position Details

• Contract: 12 months, with potential for permanent roles
• Start Date: September 2024

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support pupils
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals
• Relevant qualifications or training in education or behavioural support (preferred)
• Minimum GCSE requirement: C/4 in Maths and English

Degrees in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology are highly desirable. Experienced SENCO/SEND candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
