Job description

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced 1-1 teaching assistant in Wiltshire Full time.

About the role:

  • Monitor and record the student s progress and report back to the teacher or support team.
  • Help the student stay focused, organized, and on task during lessons.
  • Support the student s social and emotional well-being throughout the school day.
  • Assist with transitions between activities or classrooms, as needed.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the student s specific needs and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists

About you:

To be considered for the 1-1 teaching assistant role you will:

  • Previous one-to-one support experience with students who have additional needs ( SEN, behavioural and emotional complexities) Desirable
  • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
  • Background in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour.
  • Experience adapting learning materials to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

To be considered for the role of a SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Be flexible.
  • Experience in Teaching Assistant roles (Preferable)
  • Competent behaviour management skills.
  • Familiarity with a range of needs (e.g., ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder, SLD - Severe Learning Difficulty and PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty).
  • Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Willing to complete CPD training.
