Job summary

Prospero Teaching is working with local SEND teams and schools in Alnwick to recruit a dedicated Specialist Tutor to support a Year 11 student with complex SEN and SEMH needs. The role involves providing 1:1 tuition for 15 hours per week, ideally during school hours.

The successful candidate will build trust, support emotional wellbeing, and help the student engage with learning, preparing them for next steps while maintaining a calm and structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Qualification in education or child-related field is required.
• Experience with complex SEND and SEMH students.
• Background in teaching, tutoring, or support work.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships to support engagement in learning.
• Deliver engaging sessions tailored for a Year 11 learner.
• Support SEMH development and resilience.
• Provide guidance and structure during transitions.
• Monitor progress and communicate with families and professionals.
