Job summary

AP Education is pleased to collaborate with local authorities to deliver customised 1:1 Alternative Provision for children and young people unable to access mainstream education. We seek dedicated SEND Tutors, SEND Teachers, and HLTA in AREA and surrounding regions to provide face-to-face 1:1 support from Early Years to KS4, delivering core subjects and SEND-specific teaching.

Candidates should have SEND/SEMH experience, a background in education or youth work, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Proven SEND/SEM H teaching or tutoring experience.
• Background in education, youth work, or therapeutic settings.
• UK experience, with or without qualifications if two years minimum.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face 1:1 support from Early Years to KS4.
• Deliver core subjects (Maths, English, Science) or SEND-specific sessions.
• Use positive behaviour strategies and a patient approach.
• Carry out baseline academic and emotional assessments.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and liaise with SALT/OT if needed.
• Manage daily attendance reporting and support transitions to mainstream.
