Job summary

Specialist SEND Group is seeking a compassionate Personal Assistant in Southend-on-Sea to provide 1:1 support for a young girl with complex SEND. The role emphasizes safe, person-centred care and helping the young person enjoy activities and engage with others.

The ideal candidate will have SEND experience, be calm, patient, and dependable, and able to follow medical and care guidance. DBS check and experience in relevant settings are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or medical needs.
• Ability to provide calm, patient and dependable 1:1 support.
• Good communication and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to the young person.
• Support a young person with complex SEND and medical needs.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Support communication, engagement and interaction.
• Provide sensory-based activities and meaningful experiences.
• Follow care plans and professional guidance.
• Support activities at home and in the community.
• Maintain hygiene and infection control.
