Job summary

Prospero Teaching are looking for SEND Tutors in Ashton-under-Lyne to deliver 1:1 tuition for young people with complex special educational needs. The tutor will provide 1:1 support to pupils seeking education outside of school, delivering Maths and English and conducting baselines to tailor curriculum.

The role is part-time, up to 25 hours weekly, with tuition taking place at the pupil’s home or a local library in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with SEN.
• UK classroom teaching experience and ability to deliver tailored lesson plans.
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box.
• Experience with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition to pupils with complex SEN.
• Conduct baseline assessments to gauge abilities and tailor curricula.
• Plan and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps and boost attainment.
• Support delivery at pupil homes or in local libraries, up to 25 hours per week.
