Are you a compassionate and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Thurrock is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEN TA, you will work closely with one pupil throughout the school day, offering tailored academic and emotional support to help them access learning and build confidence. You’ll collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to deliver a personalised approach.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualised support to a child with SEN (e.g., autism, SEMH, or communication difficulties)
Assist with classroom learning, emotional regulation, and behaviour management
Help implement EHCP targets and track the pupil’s progress
Adapt learning resources to suit individual needs
Encourage positive social interaction and engagement in school life
You’ll Need To Have:
Experience working with children with SEN (school-based or other relevant settings)
A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Confidence in using behaviour and learning support strategies
