1:1 SEND Tutor needed in Walsall

Ages 3-18 | Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We're looking for committed and compassionate 1:1 SEND Tutors to provide tailored support to children and young people aged 3 to 18, with a range of needs including Autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Physical Disabilities, and Global Developmental Delay (GDD).

About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEND Tutor, you'll work closely with learners in schools, at home, or in community settings such as libraries or local workspaces. You will deliver engaging, personalised learning plans and support the holistic development of each learner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, deliver and adapt individualised lessons to suit a variety of learning styles and needs
  2. Maintain detailed records of progress, achievements, behaviours, and any obstacles or challenges that arise
  3. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  4. Build strong, trusting relationships with learners and their families
  5. Communicate regularly with schools, parents/carers, and other professionals involved

Essential Requirements:
  1. A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  2. Confidence in managing 1:1 sessions across different environments
  3. Ability to create and deliver your own lesson plans tailored to individual needs
  4. Strong communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills
  5. A calm, patient and empathetic approach to learning and behaviour

Desirable:
  1. Relevant teaching, tutoring or SEND qualifications
  2. Understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, and inclusive teaching strategies
  3. Experience tracking progress and using assessment tools
