Job summary

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a trainee teaching assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis and work with the class teacher to aid progress. The role suits a candidate who is patient, adaptable and eager to learn, with experience or sensitivity to children with additional needs.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm in Middlesbrough, with PAYE pay, guaranteed work and free CPD including Team Teach. DBS checks and safeguarding training are provided.

Qualifications

• Be positive and self-motivated.
• Have a calm and reassuring nature.
• Be able to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
• Be willing to learn and adapt in the way you work.
• Support the pupil on a 1:1 basis to help progress and integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil alongside the class teacher.
• Assist with class activities and help the pupil integrate with peers.
• Develop knowledge of the pupil's needs and seek guidance from SENCo and staff as required.
• Provide positive reinforcement and work as part of the team.
