Job summary

Veritas Education in the Bradford area is seeking dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of primary, secondary and specialist settings.

You will provide one-to-one learning support, help with behaviour management, and work closely with teachers to tailor activities. DBS checks and Level 2 English and maths are required. This is a full-time role with opportunities for progression and CPD.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Experience 1:1 support across age ranges.
• Confidence using behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Good understanding of the National Curriculum and classroom learning basics.
• Resilience and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS disclosure.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve goals.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment tailored to the pupil's needs.
• Support emotional regulation and de-escalation of challenging situations.
• Build trusting relationships to encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and other support assistants for consistent, effective support.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual educational, social and emotional needs.
