Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with autism and sensory processing needs in a mainstream primary school in Welling. Starting January 2027, this full-time, long-term role offers ongoing support to help the pupil engage with learning and develop confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism or SEND is desirable.
• Patient, reliable and able to build trusting relationships.
• Understand importance of predictable routines and clear communication.
• Able to adapt approach to the individual child.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual support to help the pupil engage with classroom learning.
• Adapt activities and resources to suit learning and sensory needs.
• Support transitions between lessons and daily routines.
• Help the pupil develop independence and confidence.
• Use visual prompts, structured routines and sensory strategies.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to review progress and maintain consistency.
