Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (term-time only)
Are you a patient, nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the life of a child with additional needs?
Vision for Education is working with a caring and inclusive primary school in Romford to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The Role
Supporting a primary-aged child with autism on a 1:1 basis in a mainstream classroom
Encouraging engagement, independence and participation in lessons and routines
Assisting with social communication, emotional regulation, and transitions
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external agencies to deliver consistent, personalised support
Promoting a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment
About You
Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs (essential)
A caring, patient and adaptable approach
Confident supporting children with communication or sensory needs
Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff
Any training in PECS, Makaton or Autism Awareness is an advantage but not essential
