1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Solihull

Duration: Full time, on going

Salary: £85 – £95 per day

The School/role:

An amazing special needs school in Solihull are currently looking for a fulltime 1:1 SEN teaching assistant. The school is a community special school with students with cognition and learning difficulties in addition to physical disabilities and complex health needs.

This will include supporting teachers with material preparation for lessons, assisting with displays and providing direct 1 on 1 or small group student support.

The ideal candidate for a SEN TA role should:

  • Demonstrate experience or a strong interest in supporting children with SEN
  • Possess prior experience collaborating within the SEN Department
  • Exhibit flexibility, proactivity, and patience
  • Show nurturing and compassionate qualities in their approaches
  • Communicate effectively within a team

A new enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
  • PECS and Makaton training/experience
  • ASD, SLD, Complex needs – Non verbal needs experience
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school based references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – on the update service
