Job description

Do you have a passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Are you patient, kind, and adaptable? We're looking for dedicated 1:1 Support Teaching Assistants to join our team in Leyland.

In this role, you'll provide individualised support to children with ASD, using tailored strategies to aid their learning and development. You will work closely with colleagues to foster an inclusive and nurturing environment. Prior experience working with children with ASD is essential, as are strong communication skills and a compassionate approach. If you're eager to make a positive impact and help these children reach their full potential, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Utilisation and development of 1:1 resources.
  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and TA\'s to organise appropriate activities.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher\'s, TA, specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with other LSA\'s and support staff.
  • Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis.
  • Prepare and develop class displays.
  • Keep up to date records of the pupil's progress and contribute to the child\'s EHCP plan.
  • Create a calm environment where learning can take place.
Essential requirements
  • Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • TA qualified. L2/3.
