Job summary

Harmony HealthCare is seeking a female Complex Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 support to an adult woman with epilepsy and complex care needs in her own flat in Sussex. The role requires compassion, reliability and experience in epilepsy care, learning disabilities and complex support needs.

You will work full-time, covering 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends. Training will be provided, and carers are expected to promote independence, dignity and safety while following care

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with complex needs and epilepsy.
• Ability to follow care plans and clinical guidance.
• Capable of providing personal care and daily living assistance.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support at all times in the service user's home.
• Monitoring seizure activity and respond per epilepsy care plan.
• Supporting medication administration and emergency rescue meds as trained.
• Following positive behaviour support plan and recognizing seizure activity.
• Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks.
• Supporting mobility and transfers with assistance devices as needed.
• Maintaining safety and reducing falls risks at home.
• Assisting with eating and drinking per dysphagia plan.
• Communicating clearly using simple language and allowing processing time.
• Using GoTalk 9 device to support communication.
• Facilitating access to social activities within allocated hours.
• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting changes.
