Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Sefton is seeking an experienced secondary tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for a learner in Sefton. The role is part-time (5–15 hours per week) with start date October 2026 and ongoing duration.

You will plan engaging lessons across core subjects, adapt materials to the learner’s level, monitor progress and communicate effectively with parents or guardians. QTS/PGCE or tutoring experience desirable and enhanced DBS on Update Service preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged learners.
• Strong subject knowledge in at least one core subject.
• Enhanced DBS and Right to Work in the UK preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 secondary tuition.
• Support core subjects according to learner requirements.
• Identify and address areas of academic difficulty.
• Plan engaging and appropriately challenging lessons.
• Adapt resources and teaching methods.
• Develop learner confidence and positive learning habits.
• Monitor and report on progress.
