Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Psychology Graduate to work as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant within a Gateshead school.

The successful candidate will provide consistent support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them participate in learning, develop positive relationships and build greater independence. This role would suit a graduate looking to gain professional experience before pursuing a career in education, psychology, SEND or a related field.

Qualifications

• Patience, empathy and reliable manners are essential.
• Strong communication and observational skills are required.
• Interest in SEND and child development is important.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent 1:1 support to the pupil.
• Assist the pupil with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Encourage engagement, participation and social development.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Develop a positive professional relationship with staff and pupil.
