Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting for a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child at a welcoming primary school in Barnard Castle. This role offers part-time hours and a competitive daily rate, with tailored support to help the pupil access learning and develop confidence within the classroom.

You will work closely with the class teacher and school staff, providing dedicated 1:1 support, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping create an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, or similar setting.
• A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
