Job summary

Lancashire Independent Living Service is seeking a Female Personal Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a 15-year-old girl with severe learning difficulties and autism, in her home and within the local community in Lytham St Annes.

You will promote safety, independence and social development, assisting with daily routines and personal care, and accompanying her to libraries, parks, the gym, and other activities. An Enhanced DBS check and a full clean driving license are required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting her to access the local community, including trips to the library, parks, the gym and other recreational activities.
• Encouraging physical activity and supporting her to become fitter, more confident and comfortable when accessing activities and going out in the community.
• Teaching and reinforcing road safety skills and accompanying her safely on walks.
• Providing appropriate prompts and support with personal care, including toileting, hygiene and ensuring she is tidy and presentable afterwards.
• Encouraging independence and helping her develop confidence in everyday activities.
• Building a positive, trusting and supportive relationship with her and her family.
