Job summary

Dorset Council, Shaftesbury, is seeking a caring and energetic 1:1 Learning Support Mentor to work with a named pupil who has a hearing impairment. You will need empathy, motivation and strong organisational skills to support their progress.

The role is part-time (31 hours 15 minutes per week), term-time plus inset days, fixed term until July 2027. Salary is Grade 5, SCP 5-6 (£19,199–£19,504 per annum), with monthly payments and adjustments to reflect the academic year.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with hearing impairment is desirable.
• Ability to motivate and organise students and sustain engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 learning support to a named pupil with hearing impairment.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare checks as part of school procedures.
