Job description

Prospero Teaching is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in West Wittering, supporting a Year 4 pupil on a one-to-one basis.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's learning and development. As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to help the pupil engage with the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Your role will be varied, hands-on, and impactful. You will:

• Offer individualised support to help the pupil access their learning
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive social interactions
• Assist with structured activities and learning interventions
• Support behaviour management and emotional regulation, ensuring a calm and positive learning space
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies
• Adapt learning resources to suit the pupil's needs
• Maintain a supportive and inclusive environment, fostering well-being and progress
• Follow safeguarding policies to ensure the child's safety and welfare

What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Have experience working with KS2 children, ideally in a learning support capacity
• Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Childcare, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
• Have a patient, nurturing, and encouraging approach
• Are passionate about inclusion and helping all children succeed
• Communicate effectively and thrive in a team setting
• Can adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

The Details

• Location: West Wittering
• Position: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (KS2 - Year 4)
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Start Date: September 2025
• Rate of Pay: From 13.96 per hour

Eligibility Criteria:

• Right to work in the UK

• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate (registered with the online update service or willingness to apply)

• References available upon request

• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or willingness to complete training)
