Five Education is looking for teaching assistants to work 1:1 with SEND students at a secondary school in Bath. This role requires empathy, patience, and experience in supporting children with special needs. Full- and part-time opportunities available, with specialized training offered.
Five Education is seeking a number of teaching assistants to work 1:1 with SEND students at an excellent secondary school in Bath, starting in September. Ideally you would have experience working with pupils between the ages of 10 to 16, and you must be able to support children with the range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, ASD, ADHD, sensory, speech and language impairments. Both full- and part-time roles are available.
The school has great feedback from our candidates previously placed there, and the staff are very supportive and welcoming. The school may wish to arrange one or multiple trial days with candidates before the summer holidays, prior to making a firm decision.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support, helping to make the curriculum accessible and engaging
• Promote independence, confidence and self-regulation in students
• Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCo and other staff to meet individual needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction through praise and consistency
• Help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment
Essential Criteria:
• Empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting children's learning
• Available to work Monday to Friday, 8:20-15:20 (term-time only)
• Right to work in the UK - we are unable to offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas
• Able to provide at least two recent references (from the last two years)
• Possess a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be an interview.
