Akeley Wood Junior School in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant 1:1 to support a student with additional needs within our Early Years team. The role welcomes apprentices and offers a nurturing environment for a rewarding start in early childhood education.

The position is fixed-term until August 2027, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with a salary of £22,170 per annum.

Qualifications

• Ability to work and communicate with young children
• Diplomatic and tactful
• Communicate with teachers and parents
• Deliver pre planned programmes of work
• Deal sensitively with people and resolve conflicts
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken form
• Experience of working in an educational environment
• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs

Responsabilités

• To understand and support the specific needs of the student
• Carry out specific needs as outlined in EHCP/Support Plan
• To aid students to learn as effectively as possible
• To carry out specific duties as directed by the SENCo, Inclusion Lead and Class Teacher
• To promote good behaviour, as per the school policy
