Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for students with learning needs in Basildon. You will work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement personalised learning plans and monitor progress, ensuring student wellbeing and engagement.

The role requires strong communication, patience, and a collaborative approach. A background in safeguarding and DBS checks are required. Competitive pay and ongoing CPD support are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• As a Learning Support Assistant you will provide one-to-one support to specific student's with learning needs, on a 1:1 or small group basis.
• Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans.
• As a Learning Support Assistant you will collaborate with teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and other professionals to support the student effectively.
• Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the student to promote their well-being and engagement.
• As a Learning Support Assistant you will monitor and track the student's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as needed.
• Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.
