Were looking for enthusiastic, committed, and motivatedchildren's nursewith experience and a passion for delivering high-quality care to join our team as aBand 6 Sister/Charge Nurse - fixed term/secondment opportunity for 12 months.

Our Children's Ward provides care for patients up to 16 years old with a wide range ofacute and elective medical and surgical needs. With 8 beds, including 2 enhanced care cubicles, we deliverLevel 1 and 2 careto children and their families. You'll gain experience caring for children with conditions such as:

  • Bronchiolitis
  • Diabetes
  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Post-operative orthopaedic care
  • And much more!

You'll be supported throughout your journey by ourPractice Educators, Lead Nurses, Matrons, and the widermulti-disciplinary team. From your induction to your development as a Band 6, were here to help you thrive.

As aBand 6 Sister/Charge Nurseon our Childrens Ward, youll play a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to children and their families. This is a leadership position that requires clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, and a passion for paediatrics.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain a high standard of clinical care when carrying out nursing procedures.
  • Take responsibility for the safe custody, checking, and administration of medication.
  • Act as a patient advocate, championing safety, dignity, and respect.
  • Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework and uphold best practice.
  • Be an effective and supportive team member, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and practice development.
  • Motivate and positively influence colleagues across the ward.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership, supporting the Lead Nurse and deputising when required.
