Job summary

Kindred are looking for hardworking and reliable cleaners to be based in an educational building in South Oxhey, Watford, with the site at The Mead, Watford WD19 5BT. You will maintain classrooms, toilets and common areas, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment. DBS check required and Kindred emphasises inclusion and safety.

Qualifications

• Able to complete the physical demands of the role with reasonable adjustments.
• To be able to follow instructions (including written) and work safely for periods of time on their own.
• Complete tasks within a specified timeframe.
• An ability to communicate in English, although English as a first language is not a requirement.
• Able to fulfil the shift patterns because the timings of the role would be fixed.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors.
• Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, touchpoints and furniture.
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
• Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
• Carrying out periodic deep-cleaning tasks (e.g., carpet cleaning, polishing floors).
• Using appropriate cleaning materials for different surfaces to maintain standards and protect equipment.
• Using cleaning equipment safely (buffers, steamers, vacuums) and storing properly.
• Following health & safety regulations, including COSHH.
• Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly.
• Working independently to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
• Supporting colleagues as needed to ensure high overall cleanliness standards.

Customer Care & Presentation:

• Ensuring cleaning standards reflect Kindred’s commitment to a professional, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
• Being polite and respectful when working in areas where staff, clients, or visitors are present.
