Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to perform operating functions, analytical testing, and maintenance at the North Plant. The role includes safety compliance and regulatory testing for BOD5, TSS, pH, and chlorine.

The incumbent will monitor and adjust control panels, respond to alarms, and maintain logs. A valid LA driver’s license and certification or ability to obtain certification are required, with duties including after-hours response

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid Louisiana driver’s license.
LA DHH-OHP Wastewater Treatment IV certification or the ability to obtain.
Experience in wastewater plant operation preferred.

Responsabilités

Operate and maintain various wastewater treatment plant equipment, including valves, gates, aerators, chemical feed systems, pumps, motors, and sludge handling equipment.
Collect samples and conduct quality control laboratory tests (BOD5, TSS, pH, DO, residual chlorine, fecal coliform).
Monitor and adjust control panels, gauges, alarms, and meters to ensure optimal plant operations.
Respond to plant alarms, emergencies, and after-hours on-call if assigned.
Maintain detailed operating logs and data acquisition/telemetry systems.
Assist with startup, shutdown, and calibration of treatment systems and equipment.
Assist with regulatory inspections and audits with documentation and data.
