Wiremind in Paris seeks a Head of Software Engineering and IT & Security to unify three product teams (CAYZN, PAXONE, EVENTORI), oversee around 80 engineers, define delivery processes, budgets, and ways of working, while collaborating with CTO and Heads of Eng and IT & Security.
You will not code daily but must read code, challenge architecture, and communicate with principal engineers; lead AI agent adoption across the lifecycle to boost productivity across the company.
Since 2014, Wiremind has positioned itself as a technical company transforming the world of transport and events with a 360° approach combining UX, software, and AI.
Our expertise lies primarily in optimizing and marketing our clients' capacity. We work on various projects such as ticket forecasting and pricing, 3D optimization of air freight or scraping competitor prices. Our applications are the preferred tool of companies such as SNCF, United Airlines, Qatar Airways or even PSG to visualize, analyze and optimize their capacity.
Dynamic and ambitious, we strive to maintain our technical DNA which is the engine of our success. Bootstrapped and profitable since 2014, we have just closed our very first funding round: €35M to accelerate our growth. Our team is mainly composed of engineers and experts and supports the growth of our business model based on "software-as-a-service" solutions.
Wiremind now runs three products (CAYZN for revenue management, PAXONE for rail booking, EVENTORI for sports and entertainment ticketing), each with its own software team, and shared Data, Platform and IT & Security teams: close to 80 engineers in about ten teams, led by Heads of Software Engineering, Heads of Data and a VP Platform. This organization grew from one product team to several in a few years, and it now needs a leader whose full‑time job is to make it work as one.
Reporting directly to Charles, Wiremind's CTO and Co‑founder, you will take ownership of the Software Engineering and IT & Security teams: their people, their ways of working, their delivery and their budget. The Heads of Software Engineering and the IT & Security lead will report to you. Charles keeps the technical vision, the product strategy and the research agenda; you build the organization that delivers them.
You will not code day to day. You must still be able to read our code, challenge an architecture and hold your own with our principal engineers: at Wiremind, credibility with engineers is earned on the technical ground.
Multiple organisational change are in progress, the first is AI: every engineer at Wiremind works with coding agents, but the rest of the lifecycle (review, maintenance, sizing and scoping) has not caught up, and we do not measure the impact. Beyond engineering, you will help non‑tech teams adopt AI to gain productivity internally, and activate every lever that can make the company more efficient. The second is culture: the company grew from one product team to several, silos appeared silently, and not enough is shared beyond a few libraries. The third is people: you build how your teams are followed and how managers grow, with career paths for engineers who manage and for those who do not. You make leaders emerge: spot potential, help developers grow and keep learning, and give them room to take on more. You also set a clear company position on our philosophy for hire.
