About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to drive complex technical initiatives, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver strategic projects that align with our organizational objectives. This role combines deep technical project expertise with Agile leadership and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
Strategic Project Leadership:
- Strategically Plan & Coordinate: Drive consistent release and quarterly capacity planning and resolve complex internal and external dependencies.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects ensuring alignment with business strategy and organizational priorities.
- Define project scope, success criteria, and resource requirements while managing stakeholder expectations.
- Orchestrate multi-workstream initiatives and coordinate cross-functional dependencies.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure visibility across all organizational levels.
Agile Transformation & Team Excellence:
- Serve as Scrum Master for high-performing technical teams, championing Agile best practices.
- Facilitate sprint ceremonies, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor & Govern Agile Processes: Coach teams including product on agile adoption.
- Understand, build, monitor and optimize the team KPIs: Team Velocity, BurnDown charts, barriers for the team story lifetime.
Risk Management & Strategic Planning:
- Develop comprehensive risk management strategies and proactively address potential project impediments.
- Navigate technical complexity: Understand high-level topics across diverse technical skills (Database, web app, workflow, API) within a complex team setup.
- Implement contingency planning and escalation protocols for critical project milestones.
Stakeholder Excellence & Communication:
- Foster a positive team environment: Create a safe space for communication and maintain team morale during meetings.
- Cultivate strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Develop and execute targeted communication strategies for diverse audience needs.
- Provide executive-level reporting and maintain transparent project visibility.
- Drive stakeholder engagement through regular touchpoints and feedback mechanisms.
Process Innovation & PMO Leadership:
- Champion PMO maturity and contribute to organizational process improvement initiatives.
- Identify automation opportunities and implement efficiency-driven solutions leveraging AI tools.
- Establish project management standards and mentor junior team members.
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of technical project management experience in technology or digital publishing environments.
- Methodology: Advanced proficiency in Agile / Scrum methodologies with deep SDLC understanding.
- Leadership: Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced matrix organizations.
- Tools: Expert-level proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and modern project management platforms.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently while driving cross-functional collaboration.
- Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with proven stakeholder management experience. Fluent English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: PMP, CSM, SAFe or equivalent project management credentials.
- Process Excellence: Experience in workflow optimization, process reengineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Technology Stack: Familiarity with Airtable, Smartsheet, Agentic AI tools, and emerging project management technologies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in web publishing, content management, AI, health information, or digital media environments.
- Leadership: Previous experience mentoring teams and driving organizational change initiatives.
