Position summary

The specialized monogastric technical engineer plays a key role in the development of applied research in animal nutrition. As part of the technical team, he or she is responsible for designing, monitoring and promoting scientific studies, in collaboration with internal teams, external partners and according to the company’s strategic objectives.

Overview of responsibilities

R&D project management – Monogastric specialty:

• Develop and monitor technical studies: define the issue, develop the protocol, monitor the study, collect and analyze data, write up and promote the results (articles and/or posters);
• Interact with the market managers team, particularly for the promotion of results (development of sales pitches);
• Participate in technical meetings with colleagues from different countries (presentation of results, discussions, collaboration on projects);
• Support the various services offered by this department;
• Maintain relationships with customers and external partners/service providers in the context of setting up trials and studies;
• Participate in technical meetings, scientific conferences, etc. for scientific monitoring and presentation of results.

Required education and experience

• Engineering degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience in animal nutrition;
• Significant experience (more than three years) in a similar position.

Technical knowledge

• Solid knowledge of animal husbandry and nutrition—specializing in monogastric animals (an affinity for swine is a significant asset);
• Proven skills in experimentation and data processing (statistics);
• Advanced level of English (spoken and written) is required due to the international scope of the company. In addition, proficiency in the local language (French, German, Dutch, or Danish, depending on the country of origin) is required.
