System Architect: Defense AI & Multi‑System Leadership

Harmattan AI in Paris is seeking a System Architect to own the end-to-end architecture for our portfolio of robotic defense systems, from long-term vision to field deployment, in close collaboration with executive leadership and product teams.

You will lead system-of-systems design, verification, and cross-disciplinary coordination across mechanical, electrical, embedded, software, GNC and ML domains, ensuring robustness and strategic reliability for mission-critical applications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in system engineering or architecture in a senior or lead role.
• MSc in Engineering; PhD is a plus.
• Defense sector experience mandatory; drones are a plus.
• Strong knowledge in C2 & AI, ISR, and UAV systems.
• Expert in defining and leading lifecycle of complex multi-system architectures.
• Strategic, analytical with high-level trade-off analysis.
• Deep engineering across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and enterprise software.
• Experience coordinating large multi-disciplinary engineering teams and interfaces.
• Excellent communication, presentation and documentation for technical and executive audiences.

Responsabilités

• System-of-Systems Design & Strategy: translate complex goals into global designs across the enterprise.
• Architectural sizing & verification: ensure systems meet needs through rigorous simulations and sizing.
• Coordinate large multidisciplinary engineering organizations and provide technical leadership across design efforts.
• Specification and integration governance: enforce standards and drive architecture reviews.
• Continuous improvement: enhance requirements traceability, documentation standards, and validation workflows across engineering.
