Swim Instructor – Part Time – Chantilly

Location: Chantilly, Virginia. (Propel Swim Academy also operates a 13,000 sq. ft. facility in South Riding, Virginia.)

Pay

Hourly wages: $17 – $24, based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach within our set swim curriculum and help students achieve goals within a given period.
• Create an engaging and safe swim lesson experience.
• Enforce safety rules and maintain discipline.
• Use clear oral communication with children and coworkers.
• Collaborate as a team player and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

Requirements

• Genuine love for teaching children.
• Ability to swim; a swimming background is beneficial but not required.
• Strong communication skills and relationship building.
• Availability to work evenings and/or weekends.
• Commitment to instructor attendance of at least 90 % (e.g., 9 weeks out of 10).
• Reliable transportation to/from work.
• Willingness to be in the water for 4 hours per shift.

Growth Opportunities

All Swim Lesson Leaders begin as part‑time Swim Instructors. We promote from within to roles such as Mentor Instructor, Deck Supervisor, and Team Leader.

Schedule

• 4‑hour shifts, evenings, Monday‑Friday.
• Year‑round work.
• Typical hours: 5–20 per week.

Propel Swim Academy – South Riding, Virginia (with opportunities to work at member schools in Chantilly).
