Wärtsilä is seeking a Supplier Quality Expert in Surgères, France, to oversee quality performance of military and strategic suppliers for the V8X engine program. You will collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, inspection, and internal teams to ensure compliance with technical and delivery requirements in a heavily regulated environment.

Key responsibilities include monitoring performance, conducting inspections, preparing reports, and driving corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Experience in supplier quality or quality assurance in regulated industries (industrial/defence/aerospace).
• Technical knowledge of rotating equipment, engines, mechanical systems, or manufacturing processes.
• Solid understanding of quality management systems, ISO standards, and inspection processes.
• Experience managing supplier non-conformities and continuous improvement activities.

Responsabilités

• Conduct supplier inspections and quality assessments per contractual/technical requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports and follow-up recommendations.
• Support procurement projects by ensuring technical and quality documentation consistency.

• Develop and implement supplier improvement plans.
• Participate in supplier reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Expert to join our Special Applications team in Surgères, France.
In this role, you will be responsible for the quality performance and development of military and strategic suppliers supporting the V8X military engine program. You will work closely with suppliers, purchasing teams, inspection teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical, quality, and delivery requirements within a highly regulated environment.
Your responsibilities
As a Supplier Quality Expert, your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring supplier quality performance and managing supplier non-conformities.
• Conducting supplier inspections and quality assessments in accordance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Preparing and issuing inspection reports and follow-up recommendations.
• Supporting procurement projects by ensuring the consistency and validity of technical and quality documentation.
• Coordinating supplier quality claims and driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Developing and implementing supplier improvement plans.
• Participating in supplier reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and representing Wärtsilä quality requirements during supplier visits and inspections.

What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in supplier quality, quality inspection, or quality assurance within industrial, defence, aerospace, nuclear, or similarly regulated industries.
• Technical knowledge of rotating equipment, engines, mechanical systems, or manufacturing processes.
• A solid understanding of quality management systems, ISO standards, and inspection processes.
• Experience managing supplier non-conformities and continuous improvement activities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel frequently.
