Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Supplier Development Manager to join the Supplier Development Department in Toulouse, France. The role focuses on shaping the future of the Space Systems supply-base by improving supplier performance and maturing the supply chain.

You will lead cross-functional efforts, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives on site. Requires 5+ years in procurement, engineering, quality or manufacturing, plus experience with APQP standards and Six

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in Procurement, Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing activities.
  • Experience in assessment or audits.
  • Knowledge of APQP standards – SPC, control plan, PFMEA, capability studies, measurement system analysis.
  • Basics of APICS, production and inventory management.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies; DMAIC, 8D; Black Belt or Shaining accreditation is strongly appreciated.
  • Statistical data analysis skills (comparative methods, hypothesis testing, design of experiments).
  • Strong communication, active listening, empathy.
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to persuade, influence and convince.
  • Procurement IT tool knowledge is an advantage.
  • Excellent relationship building, team building, motivating others and conflict management skills.
  • Negotiation level English; other languages are a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Improve and develop supplier performance by providing expert support at supplier site, covering end-to-end processes and using continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop the Supply Chain to the appropriate maturity level to support suppliers and ensure OQOTOC performance.
  • Identify supplier weaknesses, capabilities, capacities, and areas of improvement to enhance supply chain maturity and robustness.
  • Prepare mission statement, establish and agree with supply chain stakeholders on relevant objectives, targets and CID action plan.
  • Perform industrial maturity or capacity assessments.
  • Drive the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, problem solving, knowledge sharing, ...) and tools at supplier sites.
  • Manage with the supplier and report regularly on action plans and development achievement.
  • Support the Supply Chain operation team with recovery plans on critical issues to ensure performance targets are achieved.
  • Contribute to anticipate recurring supplier quality issues and initiate preventive measures.

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Supplier Development Manager (f/m) to join our Supplier Development Department based in Toulouse, France. This team is responsible for shaping the future of Space Systems supply-base!
