Royal Caribbean Group seeks a Superintendent Piping for its New Build Operations team. You will lead on-board inspections of piping, oversee execution against approved specs, and coordinate with shipyards, suppliers, and classification bodies to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance (SOLAS/IMO), and seamless collaboration across diverse teams in a global cruise ship construction program, with travel to France and abroad as required.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, with 5+ years in a similar role or 10+ years in hotel maintenance management on related projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles applied to ship design, production, and materials.

Responsabilités

  • Conduct day-to-day piping and outfitting inspections on board, ensuring compliance with documentation, specs and standards.
  • Collaborate with shipyard, site machinery, and suppliers; participate in FATs in France or abroad.
  • Maintain inspection records and contribute to monthly construction status reports; manage non-conformities and remarks.

We are seeking a Superintendent Piping to join our Newbuild team and play a pivotal role in delivering some of the world's most innovative and visually stunning cruise ships. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside leading architects, designers, shipyards, and technical experts to ensure that every guest-facing space exceeds expectations for quality, functionality, sustainability, and brand experience.

About the role

Responsible for day-to-day inspections on board, related to piping and outfitting in accommodation area. This position requires follow up on execution process on board based on approved documentation, contractual specification and classification standards. Close collaboration with the shipyard, site office machinery department and suppliers are included on the daily scope of work. In addition, attendance on factory acceptance tests, in France or abroad is part of tasks and responsibilities. Additional duties are the plan approval process, the monitoring of the progress, follow up on expected milestones and tests/commissioning of various equipment’s at the subject areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Daily inspections and patrolling onboard, evaluating the quality and execution process
  • Focused on safety processes on board linked to daily yard activities
  • Application of relevant rules and regulations in the development of cruise ship design and building, including evaluation of new materials.
  • Cooperation with various disciplines on correct execution based each standard and methods.
  • Oversee construction, installation works, commissioning, and acceptance of machinery-
    related equipment (including Pools , RWF , Hotel equipment, Laundry Systems , Firefighting systems , Hydraulic systems .)
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and commissioning results, contributing to monthly
    construction status reports.
  • Address remarks, defects, and non-conformities identified in past projects or guarantee
    claims to ensure they are resolved during the inspection and commissioning process.
  • Assist with the preparation of delivery documents and protocols for the ships.
  • Establish productive relationships with the shipyard, classification societies, and other
    regulatory bodies to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Implement and enforce the project's quality control plan to maintain the highest standards
    of workmanship and material quality.
  • Able to participate and lead inspections of equipment’s at supplier premises in France and abroad ( FAT, factory acceptance tests ) during the building process.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the scope of the project.

Qualifications:
  • Mechanical and Marine engineer BSc degree with 5+ years minimum experience is similar role and/or Hotel Maintenance Manager with 10+ years minimum experience on that role with New Build previous experience.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Key skills & experience required
  • Excellent written & verbal English, other languages as an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of SOLAS, IMO and other relevant regulations.
  • High level communications skills. Ability proactively to create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, development partners and with remote based colleagues.
  • Independent and self-oriented skills to lead simultaneous projects.
  • Able to work in multicultural working environment and willingness to travel.
