NES Fircroft is partnering with a major EPCI contractor specialized in Marine & Offshore works who are looking for a Structural Engineer to work on a major FPSO project.

The position will be in our client offices in Paris and will operate on a contract basis for an initial 12‑month duration, with excellent potential to extend beyond as project work scopes develop. The role requires full‑time work in Paris, Monday – Friday. In return the individual will receive an excellent day rate.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze offshore subsea structures including FLETs, manifolds, suction piles, and large mudmats.
• Utilize FEA software ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D volumic) and Beam software SACS for structural analysis.
• Perform hand calculations to validate design solutions.
• Review and provide feedback on drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with draftsmen, ensuring data provided is accurate and timely.
• Propose innovative solutions and improvements to project leads.
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in offshore subsea structure design and analysis.
• Proficiency in FEA software ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D volumic) and ideally Beam software SACS.
• Aids Installation Knowledge.
• Strong hand calculation skills.
• Ability to work independently and propose effective design solutions.
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral); proficiency in French is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
• Strong knowledge of installation methods, essential for understanding the expectations of methods and operations engineers.

• Experience working on previous projects involving offshore subsea structures.
• Ability to review and provide constructive feedback on technical drawings.
• Strong collaboration skills with draftsmen and other team members.
• Commitment to meeting project deadlines and delivering accurate data.
