Job summary

Criteo's Application & Product Security team is seeking a hands-on Security Engineer to help secure our products at scale. You will collaborate with Product Engineering, Platform teams and other security experts, shaping security strategy while delivering practical engineering outcomes.

You will lead security reviews, threat modelling, remediation of application risks, and drive secure-by-design practices across the software development lifecycle, mentoring peers and raising the bar for security

Qualifications

• Experience in Security Engineering or significant contributions to application/security initiatives.
• Background in Product Engineering or SRE/Platform Engineering and modern software development practices.
• Experience leading complex technical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Subject matter expert on security topics, advising on risks and best practices.

What You'll Do:

You'll join Criteo's Application & Product Security team, helping secure the products we build and operate. Working closely with Product Engineering, Platform teams, and other Security teams, you'll contribute to the security strategy of your domain while remaining hands‑on. This role combines technical expertise, engineering execution, and cross‑functional collaboration.

• Partner with Product and Platform teams to design and build secure systems and services
• Act as a trusted security advisor, guiding teams on secure design, threat modelling, and vulnerability management
• Identify, assess, prioritise, and help remediate application security risks across the organisation
• Contribute hands‑on to security initiatives, including architecture reviews, security tooling, automation, and incident response activities
• Help define and evolve security standards, best practices, and KPIs to continuously improve the security posture of your domain
• Drive the adoption of security‑by‑design and shift‑left security practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Lead complex technical projects and security initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across multiple teams
• Support security awareness efforts by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and promoting secure engineering practices across the organisation
• Collaborate with Security, Product, and Platform teams to improve security processes, tooling, and operational excellence

Who You Are:

• You bring experience in Security Engineering, or have significantly contributed to application or product security initiatives in previous roles
• You have a background in Product Engineering or SRE / Platform Engineering and a strong understanding of modern software development practices
• You have experience leading complex technical projects and driving cross‑functional initiatives in large‑scale environments
• You are comfortable acting as a subject matter expert on security topics and advising teams on risks, trade‑offs, and best practices
• You have experience securing distributed systems, cloud‑native environments, and modern application architectures
• You enjoy combining hands‑on engineering, problem‑solving, and technical leadership
• You influence without authority, building trust and alignment across diverse stakeholders and teams
• You demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and sound judgement when handling sensitive security topics
• You are passionate about improving security through scalable solutions, automation, and collaboration
