constellr is seeking a Mission Planning Software Engineer to shape software systems enabling automated, scalable mission planning for our satellite constellation. You will transform objectives and constraints into reliable planning pipelines powering daily satellite activity.

You will collaborate across operations and product teams to define how missions are planned and executed at scale, evolving from manual workflows to a unified automated platform delivering satellite command and imaging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
• 3–5+ years in software engineering, space systems engineering, or related domains.
• Experience building production-grade distributed systems and mission-critical software.
• Experience with mission planning, scheduling, automation, or orchestration systems.
• Strong software skills in Python, Java, SQL, and containerised development.
• Production-ready software design with reliability and maintainability focus.

Responsabilités

• Build core mission planning services and algorithms for satellite constellation.
• Shape architecture of planning systems for scalability and reliability.
• Run and monitor mission planning systems in production.
• Define engineering standards for CI/CD, IaC, observability and safety.
• Collaborate with Imaging Ops, Flight Ops, product, and engineering teams.
• Advance CI/CD pipelines and robust deployment practices.
• Translate mission needs into executable satellite commands.
• Align plans with onboard scheduling and execution constraints.
