Infinite Orbits in Toulouse is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to lead the design, development and qualification of space mechanisms across IO missions. You will own the full lifecycle of mechanisms, from conceptual architectures to on‑orbit performance, including robotic arms, deployment systems, and actuation hardware.

You will perform detailed CAD design, analyses and verification campaigns, ensuring components withstand launch and operate reliably in space.

Qualifications

5+ years designing high-reliability space mechanisms.
Proven experience delivering hardware through full lifecycle (design → test → qualification).
Strong expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) and analysis methods.

Responsabilités

Lead the design, development and qualification of space mechanisms across IO missions.
Design mechanical assemblies: robotic arms, end-effectors, deployment systems, thruster gimbals, valves and actuation systems.
Define mechanism architectures and actuation strategies (electric, spring-driven, hold-down & release).
Perform detailed mechanical design activities: CAD, tolerance stack‑ups, precision alignment.
Conduct structural, thermal and dynamic analyses and on-orbit performance assessments.
Define and execute qualification tests: functional, vibration, thermal vacuum, life-cycle; investigate anomalies.
Collaborate with robotics, GNC, propulsion and systems engineering; ensure system interfaces and supplier coordination.
