The Role:

We seek a talented and experienced Sommelier.

Description Brief:

The Sommelier provides courteous and efficient wine and bar services to guests and crew and is ultimately in charge of the wine services onboard. They also oversee service in the lounge/bars and directly assist servers. The Sommelier is responsible for the inventory of wines and spirits in their assigned area. As the wine educator, the Sommelier is also responsible for training restaurant and bar staff on wine making techniques, grape backgrounds, characteristics, and history.

• Experience onboard passenger vessels as a Sommelier is essential.
• Hold a minimum WSET level 3 or equivalent certificate.
• Valid Basic STCW certificates, as required for the position.
• Competency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Good product and beverage knowledge.
• Must have very good organisational skills and show attention to detail.
• Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
• Must be service‑minded with an outgoing charming and friendly personality.
• Fluent in the English language.
• Creative thinker.
• High level of accuracy whilst being efficient.
• Think laterally and develop new concepts and ideas.
